A fire in 2021 and 2022 destroyed parts of our community. The Recovery and Rebuild Department ensured the impacted areas were remediated and prepared for redevelopment.
They've also ensured the displaced families have received temporary lodging, food, emotional support, and other emergency support services.

In the aftermath of the devastating fire that swept through Lytton, BC, the community has faced immense loss but has also found renewed strength, resilience, and a collective will to rebuild. Elders are sharing stories of the past, youth are learning valuable construction skills, and new homes are emerging—each representing a step toward recovery and a testament to our resilience.
This rebuilding goes beyond restoring structures; it is about rekindling the community’s spirit, revitalizing the local economy, and honoring cultural heritage. Together, we are not only rebuilding Lytton but forging a stronger, more united community, moving forward with hope and determination.
